Just when you thought Obama’s foreign policy was really bad, President Barack Obama comes out with a really frightening concept that will bring the al-Qaeda terrorists now stationed safely at Guantanamo, Cuba to New York to be tried under civilian law, which would give enemy combatants the very same Constitutional protections that a U.S. citizen would enjoy.
Criticism of the plan came swift and furious.
“This misguided decision is based on the false belief that the terrorists who killed 3,000 Americans in one day on U.S. soil are common criminals, not war criminals,” said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). “But there are needless risks from this decision: classified information can be inadvertently leaked, as it was in the first World Trade Center trial; our cities will face enormous security problems; and our communities will be potential targets for attack.”
House Minority Leader Republican John Boehner said the administration’s “irresponsible decision. . . puts the interests of liberal special interest groups before the safety and security of the American people. The possibility that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his co-conspirators could be found ‘not guilty’ due to some legal technicality just blocks from Ground Zero should give every American pause.”
Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. announced Friday that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other detainees alleged involved in the 9/11 terrorist attacks will be tried in Manhattan.
“I think this is a very dangerous decision, and an irresponsible one. And one that is absolutely unnecessary. Meaning, if Khalid Sheikh Mohammed couldn’t be tried anywhere else but in New York, then of course New York would handle it and do it,” Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said, blasting the Obama administration on Friday.
“New York is already a target for terrorists – we announce that every day and talk about it every day. To add something unnecessary to that makes no sense, and the president has made, I believe, an irresponsible decision,” Giuliani added.
And according to this article, Rep. Republican Peter King of New York, agreed with Giuliani, who said 9/11 “was an act of war. And one of the things I thought we learned from Sept. 11 was that we were in a state of denial before Sept. 11. We went through this once before – 1993. We had people, terrorists, attack the World Trade Center. We did not recognize it as an act of war. We tried them in the Southern District of New York. It did no good. We were attacked in Africa, we were attacked at those embassies in Africa, we were attacked on the USS Cole and then we had the worst attack in our history,” Giuliani continued.
“And I hoped and prayed from that day on it would be the last Islamic terrorist attack in our history. And it was not the last, because a week ago we had another Islamic terrorist attack on our soil,” said Giuliani, referring to the terrorist attack at Ford Hood, Texas.
“Why this administration has trouble figuring that out when the man yelled out ‘Allahu akbar’ when he was murdering people – as a former prosecutor I find frighteningly incompetent,” Giuliani said.
“It sends a signal to terrorists everywhere to attack civilians,” said David Horowitz, former Leftist Radical who was a founder of the New Left in the 1960’s. “The administration is justifying its decisions on the grounds that because the 9/11 attackers targeted civilians they should be tried as civilians. This makes no sense unless you are a Democrat who believes that the ‘holy war’ that Islamic Jihadists have formally declared on us is no different from the acts of isolated individuals who have decided to break the law.”
Horowitz said the decision by President Obama to send the 9/11 terrorist to New York “may be the worst decision by a U.S. president in history.”
In other news, Black Conservatives are speaking out against the socialistic and liberal policies of Barack Obama, Democrats and wayward RINO Republicans.
“We have a President in the White House pushing PLANTATION POLITICS,” said Deneed Borelli, a Project 21 Fellow, on Fox News’ ‘Glenn Beck’ show. “He’s pushing for cap and trade for example, which is a TAX ON ENERGY…he said ‘energy prices will SKYROCKET through my cap and trade plan.’ Now, how is that helping anyone? How is that helping the economy?”
“The only way Black People were…ever able to triumph is because of Conservative Values, which is DIRECTLY LINKED TO CHRISTIANITY,” said Lisa Kritsch, a radio talk show host, on the all-black Beck show. “Had we been liberals during the Civil Rights Movement, nobody would have done anything.”
“I’m a Community Organizer in Harlem, and I’m actually from Motown Detroit,” said Brandon Brice, a Republican Strategist. “We’ve got to…talk about this issue with average African-Americans…we have to break down what cap and trade means…they don’t understand that their energy bill or heating bill is gonna rise. And that is a direct issue with the African-American Community.”
“The reason I still oppose him is my mother is from the Soviet Union,” said Alexander Dan’lyan, owner of a Financial Services Company. “My grandfather was a LIFELONG member of the Communist Party of the U.S.S.R.. My grandfather’s policies are THE EXACT SAME POLICIES OF THOSE OF BARACK OBAMA. And there’s no way I would come to America, where I can be anything that I want to be – all I have to do is try – and have a guy…who is now in the White House who says, ‘listen, all you have to do is sit back, relax, and we are going to redistribute your wealth. That is nonsense. People who want that can MOVE TO FRANCE, CUBA – to wherever - NOT HERE.
“These policies (socialism) are RACIST,” said Kevin Jackson, author of ‘The Big Black Lie.’
“We have to EXPOSE THE DIABOLICAL AGENDA of liberalism,” said participant Lisa Fritsch, another radio talk show host. “It’s CORRUPTING THE BLACK COMMUNITY.” She said she “used to think” the Liberal Agenda was “just well-intentioned.” But she said that “when you read a statistic that shows you that 90% of black children will at some point in their life receive food stamps, and the liberal platform supports this, but REJECTS AND OPPOSES the idea of giving black kids VOUCHERS to GO TO A BETTER SCHOOL and lift themselves out of that cycle,” that is not well-intentioned.
“You should wake up every day and thank God that you wake up in America,” said Jibreel Riley, a student. He said blacks should be thankful that “you are an American, because you got places like Detroit Michigan, Gary Indiana…and you’ll see what liberalism has done.”
“I wouldn’t be the man that I am if it wasn’t for conservatism…being conservative is about liberty, and liberty is what my soul breathes,” said Rafiq Jennings, a Data Specialist.
“The heart of the issue is the income tax,” said Robert Boradus, a Computer Programmer. “The income tax is what allows the government to practise NEPOTISM and CRONYISM and spread the wealth around. That is the SOURCE OF COMMUNISM. It goes back to the Progressive Movement…we have to get rid of that and repeal the income tax.”
“Once you become conservative, your NO LONGER ‘BLACK,” explained participant Khalid Thomas, a Guest Services Attendant. “We all know what that’s about,” Thomas said to the mostly agreeing audience.
“But David Webb, co-founder of Tea Party 365, said “there’s only ONE RACE - human. After that, your hyphenating everything.”

You have a short memory. You do realize that we weren’t at war then. That we have yet to go to war against the country these people were caught in.

First of all, these enemy combatants, who admit they are AT WAR with the United States (have admitted such since about 1997), are the 9/11 terrorists who attacked America.
Secondly, we are NOT at war WITH Afghanistan, we are at war with the Taliban and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.
Thirdly, apprehention from a country to stand trial for crimes committed here is a bad idea to you? Surely, you don’t hate America, do you? If not, then why wouldn’t YOU want the terrorists who murdered Americans to be held accountable?
Lastly, there is NOTHING whatsoever funny – neither literally nor cynically – about bringing Islamofascist terrorists to justice WITHOUT compromising national security issues and other concerns meant to be kept sectret for security reasons.

These criminals will be brought to justice. And because America is so sure of their criminal activities, we have nothing to fear by giving them the rights that our own Constitution states should be given to them. We will convict them, they will be found guilty, and they will be executed.
Nothing is less American than trashing America’s ability to convict these terrorists when they are obviously guilty.
What it does is send a clear message that we don’t have anything to fear and that there is no bias in their convictions. What are you so afraid of?

I do not agree with your premise that it has to be in U.S. civilian courts for the U.S. to convict these Islamic Jihadist Terrorists (they admit they did the acts of terror, which is an ACT OF WAR – just like they ALREADY declared to us about 1997 per Bin Laden), so it NOT an issue of whether there is an INCREASED RISK of MORE TERRORISM in the U.S. and around the entire world, because there WILL BE, in my strong opinion.

Terrorism isn’t an act of war, it’s a federal crime. That’s why the other 200 or more “terrorists” that have been caught in America were tried under the Federal Court system, not a military court.
We weren’t at war with any country when they committed terrorism. You can’t rewind history and declare them “war criminals.”
