Obama Supporter, Air America Hostess Randi Rhodes, Calls Clinton, Ferraro, “Whores”

The radical “progressive?” left is at it again. They used to be satisfied with throwing obscenity-laced diatribes of ad-homonym demagoguery at Republicans and conservatives. That is until Hillary Clinton got in their way of electing one of their own; Barack Obama.

Top Air America (who knew they were still on?) shock-jock hostess Randi Rhodes has been suspended (we’ll wait and see if this controversy can make us some money or not?) for using “abusive, ad homonym language by our Hosts,” said a statement in part by it’s chair, Charlie Kireker.

That may sound sort of righteous to some, but isn’t this the woman who has, according to The Radio Equalizer, advocated assassinating President Bush and suggested that Mitt Romney’s supporters are likely to commit mass murder?

Maybe what he really means is that Air America doesn’t want to use such “abusive, ad homonym language” against Democrats - at least not right now.

The event was performed for a private audience at a club in San Francisco and sponsored by the local Air America affiliate. It featured obscenity-laced commentary from Rhodes on former Vice Presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton. It also included commentary on former New Jersey first lady Dina McGreevey.

Here is what some on the left thinks is funny:

Geraldine Ferraro turned out to be the David Duke in drag. Who knew? She’s like, “Why am I the bad guy here? I just don’t want anti-Semite racist in the white house.” Like Nixon or Ronald Reagan or Dick Cheney, who moved to Wyoming so he would never have to see a black guy or a Jew ever and still run for Vice-President of the United States? It’s unbelievable to me. What a whore Geraldine Ferraro is. She’s such a f***ing whore….Hillary is a big f***ing whore, too.” — Air America radio host, Randi Rhodes

I hope that you are done laughing now so that you can read the rest of this post.

The event happened on March 22 and generated absolutely no controversy, as far as I know, until a 5 minute and 38 second YouTube version of the 45 minute diatribe surfaced.

“What did they do with Don Imus when he went after the young black team who was playing basketball with kind of the same language? Treat them both the same,” Ferraro said on FOX News. “She’s coming at me and Hillary in a … sexist way.”

To incite people with language like this young woman just did on radio is very, very dangerous because … some people take this stuff so seriously that it can affect your security,” she said.

According to a news report, the manager of the venue that hosted Rhodes, Broadway Studios manager Francesca Valdez, said that the audience loved her act. However, she said she and her business partner were shocked by Rhodes’ language.

I was actually amazed that she used the F-word so many times,” Valdez said. When I was hearing her say those things, I was like, somehow, you know, appalled. And my partner was really offended,” she continued.

Last October, Rhodes was beaten in an apparent mugging while walking her dog near her home in New York City.

Air America anchor, Joe Elliott, blamed “the right-wing hate machine” at the time, but was forced to retract the charge.

Air America issued a statement at the time saying Rhodes “experienced an unfortunate incident hindering her from hosting the show. The reports of a presumed hate crime are unfounded.”

Here’s Clinton’s ex-surrogate, Geraldine Ferraro’s, recent controversial remarks about Barack Obama in her first interview with Daily Breeze:

“If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept.”

Farraro defended those remarks by saying this:

“Any time anybody does anything that in any way pulls this campaign down and says, ‘Let’s address reality and the problems we’re facing in this world,’ you’re accused of being racist, so you have to shut up,” she told the Daily Breeze of Torrance, California. “Racism works in two different directions. I really think they’re attacking me because I’m white. How’s that?”

She also told a FOX News interviewer, “I got up and the question was asked, ‘Why do you think Barack Obama is in the place he is today” as the party’s delegate front-runner?

“I said in large measure, because he is black. I said, Let me also say in 1984 — and if I have said it once, I have said it 20, 60, 100 times — in 1984, if my name was Gerard Ferraro instead of Geraldine Ferraro, I would never have been the nominee for vice president,” she said.

Controversy from the both the Clinton and Obama camps is not new. Consider the following controversial remarks from Hillary’s side of the fence:

Former President Clinton compared Obama’s campaign to the Rev. Jesse Jackson’s 1984 run in the South Carolina primary.

Clinton-backer, Former Nebraska Sen. Bob Kerrey said several times that an Obama presidency would improve the world’s image of the U.S. because of Obama’s Muslim roots.

However, Obama, said Kerrey’s comments were intended to highlight Obama’s Muslim heritage in voters’ minds.

And right before the Texas primary Clinton supporter Adelfa Callejo told CBS 11 News in Dallas, Texas, that Obama would have trouble attracting Latino support because he was African-American.

When blacks had the numbers, they didn’t do anything to support us,” Callejo said. “They always used our numbers to fulfill their goals and objectives, but they never really supported us, and there’s a lot of hard feelings about that. I don’t think we’re going to get over it anytime soon.”

When Hillary was asked whether she would reject and denounce Callejo’s remarks, she said, “People get to express their opinions,” adding that “a lot of folks have said really unpleasant things about me over the course of this campaign.”

Here are more controversial statements by Hillary Clinton surrogates:

“It’ll be, ‘When was the last time? Did you ever give drugs to anyone? Did you sell them to anyone?’ There are so many openings for Republican dirty tricks. It’s hard to overcome.” - Clinton campaign co-chairman Bill Shaheen

“I for one do not believe that imitating Ken Starr is the way to win a Democratic primary election for president, but perhaps that theory will be tested.” - Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson

It is “an act of betrayal…Mr. Richardson’s endorsement came right around the anniversary of the day when Judas sold out for 30 pieces of silver, so I think the timing is appropriate, if ironic.” - Clinton supporter James Carville

I think it would be a great thing if we had an election year where you had two people who loved this country and were devoted to the interest of this country. And people could actually ask themselves who is right on these issues, instead of all this other stuff that always seems to intrude itself on our politics.” - Bill Clinton

And Machinists Union president Tom Buffenbarger, called Obama “the man in love with the microphone.”

“He lifts his nose and turns up his ear so he can hear the roar of his adoring crowds. Unlike some, we in the machinists union have seen this act before,” he said.

He’s damn proud of his performance. But I’m not. All he proved is like Janus, the two faced Roman god… He danced to the tune dictated by billionaires.”

Here are some controversial statements by Barack Obama surrogates:

It sounds more like McCarthy. … I was going to college when Joe McCarthy was accusing good Americans of being traitors, so I’ve had enough of it.” - Merrill McPeak, co-chair of Obama’s presidential campaign and a former chief of staff of the Air Force

“This is a stain on his legacy, much worse, much deeper, than the one on Monica’s blue dress.” - Obama adviser Gordon Fischer

And according to this pro-Hillary web site, the Obama campaign has not been nice at all to Hillary.

“FACT: Barack Obama and his advisers have conducted a divisive “full assault” on Hillary’s character.

“While talking a lot about the politics of hope, change and unity, Sen. Obama and his campaign have been conducting a relentless and singularly personal assault on Hillary’s character. They have blanketed big states with false negative mailers and radio ads and have described Hillary and her campaign as:

‘disingenuous, divisive, untruthful, dishonest, polarizing, calculating, saying whatever it takes to win, attempting to deceive the American people, one of the most secretive in America, deliberately misleading, and literally willing to do anything to win, and playing politics with war.’” - THE THREE MYTHS, Roseann World

Go McCain-Romney 2008!
