Obama, Wright and “Italians” With Their “Garlic Noses”
According to Fox News, a Wright-written panegyric eulogy for teacher, psychologist, and historian Asa Hilliard reveals more of the same bombastic, incendiary language that the Reverend is now famous for.
In the Dec. 2007 edition of the Trumpet magazine, which was founded in 1982 by Barack Obama’s church, Trinity United Church of Christ, and has Wright’s daughters serving as publisher and executive editor, Wright wrote: “(Jesus’) enemies had their opinion about Him… The Italians for the most part looked down their garlic noses at the Galileans.”
In the article, which seemingly mysteriously cannot be located, Wright writes that Jesus’ crucifixion was “a public lynching Italian style” that was wrought in “Apartheid Rome.”
He then critiques America by claiming that “the government runs everything from the White House to the schoolhouse, from the Capitol to the Klan, white supremacy is clearly in charge, but Asa, like Jesus, refused to be defined by an oppressive government because Asa got his identity from an Omnipotent God.”
This current revelation comes on the heels of another revealing 2007 issue of Trumpet Magazine in which Obama’s mentor and tight friend, Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., heaps praise and adulation on none other than anti-Semite, racist Louis Farrakhan, head of the Nation of Islam.
Farrakhan, who was inspired by Malcolm X, said in a March 11, 1984 speech broadcast on a Chicago radio station that “the Jews don’t like Farrakhan, so they call me Hitler. Well, that’s a good name. Hitler was a very great man.”
Farrakhan was promptly unanimously censured by the United States Senate for the speech.
Farrakhan has also referred to Jews, Palestinian Arabs, Koreans, and Vietnamese collectively as “bloodsuckers” while maintaining that “murder and lying comes easy for white people.”
Apparently, Obama didn’t mind at that time that his church and pastor, through the magazine, gave the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award to Farrakhan, whom it said was a man that “truly epitomized greatness.”
“When Minister Louis Farrakhan speaks, America listens…For his commitment to truth, education and leadership, we honor Minister Louis Farrakhan with the Rev. Jeremiah W. Wright Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award,” Wright said in the article. “His depth on analysis [sic] when it comes to the racial ills of this nation is astounding and eye-opening. He brings a perspective that is helpful and honest.”
“His love for Africa and African-American people has made him an unforgettable force, a catalyst for change, and a religious leader who is sincere about his faith and his purpose,” Wright said.
Wright’s comments ran in a video, which was played when Trumpet bestowed the award.
But let’s not jump to conclusions about Farrakhan with only snippets of his thousands of words spoken over two decades. Let’s see what “truth” the man really stood for.

BTW, Vibert L. White Jr., author of ”Inside the Nation of Islam,” who was a former Nation of Islam insider for two decades who knew Farrakhan well for many years, said that ”Louis Farrakhan, in 10 years, has bought seven mansions. He drives around in a gold-plated limo. … It’s depressing. Ninety-eight percent of his followers are living on the edge of economic starvation.”

Also in the news, Hillary Clinton said that she “would have left” if she were in a “position where someone was making those [Wright's] kinds of comments.” But the senior minister of Hillary’s former church, Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington, who came after Hillary left the church, has come out in defense of Wright.
I am damn angry! No matter what position in life a black holds - it always goes down to race! If I called blacks “niggers with spears” as Italians were just publicly demeaned, I would get in big time trouble and maybe even arrested. How can anyone in position allow this to go without punishment. If any human being comented about “black” anything - it would be retaliated and critized and punished by some means. The NAACP would be all over the white population. Why does the “”black” population get away with “everything”??? If someone slanderd a black he would be call racist and actions would follow. The other way around it goes under the rug. Why????

The reason why this is so is because of liberalism. Liberals feel guilty about what the Democratic party did to the blacks in this country.
The history of the country shows their were deep divisions over slavery even before the Democratic party was founded, and even before the country was founded. But, good men did not demand that it ended, so it continued until Republican Lincoln ended it with the civil war. Then the Democratic party started the Jim Crow laws and enabled the KKK to terrorize the black population, but good people still did not do enough to prevent this and guarantee blacks basic civil rights. So, this country as a whole did not do what was right to stop the Democratic party from continuing to oppress blacks until the civil rights era. Even after that era, blacks still had a hard time in the South.
But now is a completely different era. We have laws that do ensure complete freedom for blacks. We even favor blacks with set-aside programs for black businesses and favor blacks with certain affirmative action programs for certain things.
The current situation is leaning too far towards favoring blacks over other ethnicities, though. Blacks can get away, like you have stated, with saying and doing things whites and others may not get away with. This is leading to reverse discrimination - something Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. did not call for. Whites and others who had nothing whatsoever to do with the past injustices against blacks are being told that they must pay for the previous sins of this country. This in turn is leading to much feelings of bitterness against blacks, which is something blacks should be very concerned about.
Because the Democratic party hooked blacks on government assistance programs in the LBJ era, blacks have not risen economically as they should have. They relied on a sense of entitlement, which caused them to not work hard to overcome their economic troubles. This in turn, along with government programs that encouraged blacks to forsake normal father-mother family units to raise black children properly, caused the utter demolition of the black family unit. The result was black children and black young men joining gangs, committing crimes and selling drugs to make a living.
Blacks must now realize that the Democratic party has been the cause of most of their problems since it’s inception. Instead of helping blacks overcome their problems after they enslaved them for over 170, the Democratic party decided to enslave them on government dependency programs - and on bitterness against white people. This has caused them many, many sorrows.
I hope and pray that blacks will finally see that they have been led astray by the Democratic party, and see that they could be helped tremendously by the Republican party. We want to actually HELP them, not give them a handout that cannot produce lasting, positive results. Like the saying goes, you can give a fish to someone who is hungry, but you will have to do it again and again. Or, you can teach someone how to fish, and they will end up selling you fish one day.
That brings me to the history of the Democratic party and to the question of why Barack Obama left out the MOST IMPORTANT, MOST RELEVANT facts about the history of racism in America. I’ll give you some FACTS, then YOU decide.
Which party started the KKK and the Jim Crow era? The Democratic party. Which party had a man named Robert Byrd FILIBUSTERING the Civil Rights Act of 1965? The Democratic party. Which party FOUGHT against Americans who wanted blacks freed from slavery? The Democratic party. Which party was formed EXPRESSLY to oppose the Democrat party on the issue of slavery? The Republican party.
Which party passed the 13th Amendment abolishing slavery? The Republican party. Which party turned right around and formed the KKK to make sure blacks went BACK to the plantations after the 13th Amendment was passed? The Democratic party. Which party passed the 14th and 15th Amendments to the Constitution so that blacks could have due process in law, so that their right to vote would not infringed upon regardless of their race or skin color? The Republican party.
Which party at one of its conventions called itself the “white man’s Party?” The Democratic party. Which party stacked the Supreme Court with racists who then finally rendered blacks 3/5ths human being in the infamous Dredd Scott case? The Democratic party. Which party has a history and pattern of terrorizing black Americans for over 170 years? The Democratic party.
Which party caused the destruction of the black family unit after the 1965 Civil Rights Act passed by hooking blacks on government programs? The Democratic party. Which party accused those who opposed hooking blacks on those government programs “racists” and “uncle Toms?” The Democratic party. Which party started affirmative action programs? The Republican party.
Which party pushed for and passed welfare reform to help poor blacks extricate themselves from government dependency programs, reducing poverty rates in black communities by 54%? The Republican party. Which party BLOCKED extension of welfare reform that Democrat Bill Clinton twice vetoed? The Democratic party.
Which party FOUGHT to exclude blacks from getting a good education for over 170 years? The Democratic party. Under which party did black business and black home ownership set record levels? The Republican party. Under which party have black students made the greatest gains in over 30 years? The Republican party. Which party has enabled over 283,000 loans to small business (30% of which went to minority businesses) totalling $63 billion in five years, almost as much as was spend in the previous 40 years? The Republican party.
Which Party freed 3.8 million blacks from the tax rolls? The Republican party. Which party started the funding of the first African American museum and culture center? The Republican party. Which party had the very first and second black Secretaries of State, and the first black National Security Advisor? The Republican party. Which party spent three times ($15 billion) more on AIDS in Africa and the Caribbean than had been previously spent? The Republican party.
And finally, which party continues to pit blacks Americans against white Americans for disgusting political gain? The Democratic party.
Oh yea, and BTW, Margaret Sanger was the founder of the National Birth Control League (now Planned Parenthood, which the Democratic party LOVES) who championed birth control and eugenics (the movement devoted to “improving” the human species by control of hereditary factors in reproduction). Sanger called for the sterilization of ‘genetically inferior races.’ She organized her ‘Negro Project’ in 1939 and wrote: ‘The poorer areas, particularly in the South … are producing alarmingly more than their share of future generations.’ She also wrote: “It is said that the aboriginal Australian, the lowest known species of the human family, just a step higher than the chimpanzee in brain development, has so little sexual control that police authority alone prevents him from obtaining sexual satisfaction on the streets.”
Barack Obama; Maybe it’s about judgement to lead. Maybe it’s about words, just words. Or could it be about political FRAUD against the American People?

The Obama followers want to talk about other issues, but CHARACTER matters - and so do WORDS.
When people refer to other folks in such a derogatory manner in a very public way as Obama’s close friend, Jeremiah Wright, has done, they can be very hurtful and damaging to the ones to whom they are referring to.
Barack Obama said he could be a uniter, but his church and his close friend Wright have NOT been uniters, but instead very vindictive, poisonous DIVIDERS on several levels.
Remember that Obama said and has campaigned as a man who has the “judgement to lead.” Well, many Americans are taking a closer look at his judgements concerning Wright, his church, which gave an award to hatemonger, racist, anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan, his long-time pal Rezko, who Obama first said didn’t raise much money for him, then admitted he did, and Mr. Ayers, who served with Obama on the board of a Chicago non-profit leftist group, and has also appeared with him on University of Chicago academic panels, who, when asked by the New York Times about his terrorist activities after the 9/11 attacks, said: “I feel we didn’t do enough.” There are still more players in Obama’s life who have yet to have their stories told.
This man, Obama, is going to be vetted just like everyone else has been, regardless of how the liberal media would just like to gloss over controversy about him and crown him heir to the most powerful position in America - POTUS.
I believe Barack Obama is a FRAUD, and has not been candid about how much he knew about his church, or the Reverend thereof.
This is something I left at another site that’s discussing this “guilt by association” issue, and Obama’s denial of knowledge about Wright’s views just stretches credualty beyond the capacity of a Glad Stretch Bag. As I say (quoting myself, since this is an argument no one has yet made but is at the heart of this “association” thing), we’ve got two very political people, one of whom was mentor, uncle, spiritual advisor and inspiration for a best seller, and Reverend Wright was strangley “silent” about his politics when talking to Barrack? (good statistics, Denny…I’m assuming they’re available for copying into other debates on the internet?)

And last night’s blather about this was only 30 minutes–um, er, I mean 30 seconds, out of 3 sermons 3 times a week for 30 years. Right. What really scares me is Harvard’s history program. Obama is supposed to be brilliant? Who wrote Harvard’s history books? Monty Python?
And if Wright doesn’t scare you, Obama’s defenders ought to make you do exactly what Emma recommends. It might be time to remember that the zealots from the October Revolution were only interested in improving the lot of the “workers” and that Hitler stopped inflation and made the trains run on time.

The question becomes one of judgment, character, integrity, honesty and intelligence.
If I were to believe Obama’s defense that he didn’t, and still doesn’t, know what was, and still is, going on at his church for 20 years, then, in my opinion, he must not be very observant nor intelligent, and does not possess sensible judgement. Therefore he cannot be qualified to be the POTUS, in my opinion. If I do NOT believe Obama, then his integrity, character and honesty is woefully insufficient to be the POTUS, in my opinion.
Obama went to Harvard Law School (they don’t let just anybody in), where he became the first African-American president of the prestigious Harvard Law Review. He graduated magna cum laude in 1991. Now do you think he is NOT aware of what his church and ex-pastor are all about? Be AFRAID! Be VERY AFRAID!
At a meeting with a Jewish group in Ohio earlier this month, Mr Obama said: “I don’t think my church is actually particularly controversial,” as he compared Mr Wright’s controversial views to those of “an old uncle.”
Last year Obama rescinded an invitation to Mr. Wright to deliver the invocation at his announcement that he was running as a Democratic nominee for president. Gee, I wonder why?
